For over 17 years Philip Straub has been creating art for the games, film, and publishing industries. He is the author and creator of the award-winning illustrated novel and interactive website, Utherworlds, and is co-author of D’artiste Digital Painting. Philip’s luminous and meticulously detailed digital and traditional oil paintings have classical influences but are purely based on the fantastic. He focuses on evoking an emotional response from his images through composition, color, light, and subject matter.

Philip’s work has appeared in over 30 children’s books and numerous commissions by such famous companies as Mattel, Fisher Price, Disney, Universal Studios, Warner Brothers, DC Comics, or Knowledge Adventure. He is currently working for Warner Brothers as an Art Director, and working on Lord of the Rings: War of the North.

Philip’s licensed designs are appearing on a variety of products: books, games, puzzles, lenticular prints, wall murals, scrap books, gifts, stationary and textiles. He also continues to work on his own children’s books and feature film projects. He is continuously striving to improve his skills as an Illustrator, Concept Designer, Art Director, and Author. He looks forward to future creative endeavors and hopes to make a lasting contribution to the creative fields he enjoys.
